One Device Per Child Student Portal

As part of the government’s One Device Per Child (ODPC) initiative, every Year 7, 8, and 9 student is provided with a device. This project has four main goals: to improve access to education both at school and at home, to promote inclusive and high-quality learning experiences, to boost digital engagement, and to reduce early school leaving by enhancing digital skills.

This webpage serves as your one-stop resource for all the information you need about your device. Should any issues arise, our support team is here to assist you.

Setting up Your Laptop for the First Time

Download the pdf guide.

Please note that setup can take up to thirty minutes. How can you keep your update time short?

Avoid switching internet networks or moving your laptop.
Your laptop updates faster if it remains on the same stable internet network.

Don’t interrupt your computer’s power.
Make sure your laptop has sufficient battery power or is plugged in. Shutting down or interrupting the update process can lead to file corruption or incomplete updates.

Frequently Asked Questions – FAQs

1. How do I connect my Lenovo 13w Yoga to Wi-Fi?
Click the network icon in the Windows notification area, select your Wi-Fi network, and enter the password if prompted.

2. How do I charge the battery and check its status?
Plug the 65 W AC adapter into the USB-C power connector. The rapid-charge function achieves 80% charge in about one hour when the computer is off. To view battery status, open Settings > System > Power & battery or use the Lenovo Commercial Vantage app.

3. How can I use the touchscreen and touch gestures?
Your Yoga’s display supports multi-touch.

  • Tap once to single-click or twice to double-click.

  • Drag to scroll, pinch to zoom.

  • Swipe from the sides to open Task View, notifications, or widgets, depending on Windows 10 or 11.

4. How do I use and charge the Lenovo Integrated Pen?
Insert the pen into its slot while the computer is on or in sleep mode. A 15-second charge gives up to 30 minutes of use, and a full charge takes about five minutes. Press the eraser button for right-click and the side button for other functions.

5. How do I switch between laptop, tent, stand, and tablet modes?
Simply rotate the display. The keyboard and trackpad disable automatically in tent, stand, and tablet modes; use the touchscreen instead.

6. How do I cover the webcam for privacy?
Slide the webcam privacy shutter closed to cover the camera lens. Slide it open when you need to use the webcam.

7. What should I do if my computer stops responding?
Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off (about 5 seconds), then press the power button again to restart.

8. How do I safely remove an SD card?
Click the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” icon in the notification area, select the SD card, and wait for confirmation before pulling the card out.

9. How do I clean the screen and keyboard?
Turn off and unplug the computer.

  • Screen: Wipe gently with a soft, lint-free cloth; if needed, moisten the cloth with water or eyeglass cleaner.

  • Keyboard: Wipe keys individually with a slightly damp cloth; use compressed air or a camera blower to remove dust from under the keys.

10. How do I pair a Bluetooth device (e.g., headphones or mouse)?
Type “Bluetooth” in the Windows search box, open Bluetooth settings, turn on Bluetooth, select the device name, and follow on-screen instructions.
