It was a lovely Friday Morning full of insightful talks from Ayrton Carter, Newtech General Manager; Damian Fearnley, Acunetix Regional Sales Manager; Dan McLean, Acunetix Enterprise Account Executive and Nicholas Sciberras, Acunetix Chief Information Officer. The afternoon was spent networking whilst enjoying some drinks on the terrace.

Acunetix is Maltese of origin and was started by Nick Galea, in 2005 becoming the first company to build a fully dedicated and fully automated web vulnerability scanner. Acunetix carries unparalleled experience in the field and the scanner has been recognized as a leading solution multiple times.

It is a fully automated tool that frees up your security team resources. It reports very few false positives so your team does not waste time trying to find nonexistent issues. It can detect vulnerabilities that other technologies would miss because it combines the best of dynamic and static scanning technologies and uses a separate monitoring agent. It provides vulnerability management and compliance reporting functionality. You can classify, prioritize, and retest issues. You can also integrate with issue trackers and continuous integration solutions.

DarkTrace Launch Event

NewTech launched it’s partnership with Darktrace. The event took place at Zeri’s restaurant at the Portomaso Marina. In what was a successful launch, companies from various sectors showed up to learn more about the technology.

Darktrace’s Autonomous Response technology, Darktrace Antigena, uses Cyber AI to calculate the best action to take, in the shortest period of time, to effectively respond to a cyber-attack.

Because Darktrace’s Cyber AI learns the ‘self’ for your enterprise from scratch and has a highly evolved understanding of what’s normal, it can even respond to subtle threats that have never been seen before, but that could jeopardize key systems or data.

Cyber is like the human body. You need to accept the fact that you will get infected, but your immune system will detect these threats, fight them off, and reduce the impact.
Michael Chertoff, Former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Like a digital antibody within the human immune system, Autonomous Response works by enforcing the ‘pattern of life’ of a threatening user or device, surgically neutralizing attacks and giving security teams critical time to catch up.

Autonomous Response AI technology by Darktrace is the first of its kind, and has been recognized by leading experts, including the Royal Academy of Engineers, as a “pioneering innovation”.
